MAPS, the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary, is both the largest peace park in history and the necessary pivot in thinking to sustain it.
The Arctic Ocean is our planet’s air conditioner regulating the weather patterns that give all of us the food and resources we need to survive. But it’s in grave danger— and so are we. By transforming the Arctic Ocean north of the Arctic Circle into a protected area, MAPS, the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary, addresses the greatest challenges our world has ever known: poverty, war, species loss, ecosystem collapse and an overheated world choking on carbon emissions. MAPS, along with the global education strategy to realize it, is far more than an Arctic initiative. It is for everyone. It globally advances 16 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. It catalyzes a profound change in how we relate to ourselves, others and Nature, so that we immediately care for the 7.8 billion people, 3.4 trillion trees and millions of species on this planet who have the right to a healthy world.
Appealing to the hearts of humanity to unite for the good of all, Parvati Foundation started in Canada as an all-volunteer not-for-profit with a mission to create the largest protected area in history. Now, it is a multinational charitable organization with representation in 50 countries and from all walks of life.
Join the ever-growing team of scientists, industry leaders, media networks, artists, activists, experts, government leaders, NGOs and more who are standing up for MAPS. Like Dr. Jane Goodall, former Seychelles president James Michel, and ground-breaking whale researcher Dr. Roger Payne, you can be part of a global coalition for MAPS with the power to transform the world.
